I’m not proud to admit that I tried to star that post in the image. Twice.

Failing that, the next time I get an M2 to test, I’ll track it against the cheapest Craigslist BMW I’m allowed to expense.

I’ve got an unrelated favor to ask you – since there’s no way of messaging, I figured I’d ask you in this thread here.
I posted a long-form article on Oppo on Monday that I put a great deal of effort, research, and experience into. Would you mind sharing it to OppositeBlog?

Done and done. Thanks for the tip. If you were in the market for a nice, all the bells and whistles 7-seater, what would you buy? My wife’s CX-9 is approaching 180k miles. At the moment, interested in a lightly used MDX, maybe a new Pilot, and the soon to be all new CX-9. Probably won't spend more than $40k.

Thank you very much!
If I had to replace my XC90 tomorrow, I’d probably find a loaded-to-the-gills 2013/2014 XC90 (i.e. the last model years of the first gen), which are mostly below $40k now. Plus, R-Design models offer legitimately sporty driving dynamics, which I’d assume the CX-9 has.
That said, if you guys are satisfied w/ the Mazda, I’m thinking you would be with the all new one, too. It seems that the next CX-9 won’t stray from the current one’s formula, so to speak, and the interiors of the newest Mazda 3 and 6 have impressed me.
An MDX is definitely a safe choice, one I’d rather make over any Pilot. A fully-loaded Pilot still looks and feels like a mid-range car. The MDX, on the other hand, was designed from the ground up as a luxury car, plus it handles pretty well (the Pilot drives like a minivan).
The current Toyota Highlander is actually pretty good: surprisingly flat in the corners, quite roomy, and you get almost all the options for $40k MSRP (or literally all of them, if you haggle).
As a wildcard, have you considered the Dodge Durango? I rented a nicely-equipped Limited 3.6 AWD for a week and it really surprised me. The Mercedes GL roots really show: plush ride, composed handling, and actual space for adults in all three rows at the same time. Fuel economy and the eight-speed auto were both very good.

Sure thing, and thanks for all the input.
I've heard way too many Chrysler horror stories to consider a Dodge any time soon...
